Teaching Credentials and Education

Bill has been teaching private clarinet lessons for many years. He began giving clarinet instruction in 1969 as a senior in high school, and has continued his teaching studio throughout his long performing career.

​

Many of Bill’s students have won prestigious awards in competitions both local and National. Over the years, Bill’s students have achieved many First Chair seatings in their school bands, as well as holding many high positions – including Principal Clarinet – in both Junior and Senior All-State Band Ensembles. In addition, several have won the Columbia Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition in Maryland.

A recent student of Bill’s captured the second place award at the American Protégé International Woodwind Competition, granting the student the opportunity to perform in recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

​

Many of his students have gone on to musical careers in education as well as professional performing organizations. His students have attended some of the most prestigious music schools in the U.S., including Peabody Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, Berklee College of Music, and the Julliard School.

​

Education: Bachelor of Science, Music Education, Towson University. Summa cum Laude.
